AI Platform Engineer (f/m/d)

Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure and automation and wants to grow into AI?

Graz Full-time employee

We're looking for an AI Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure and automation layer that powers TimeTac's internal systems. This role sits at the heart of our AIDA (AI & Data) team: you'll keep our cloud environments running reliably, introduce and maintain the tools our organization depends on and progressively take on the deployment and operation of AI-powered workflows and agentic pipelines as our AI footprint grows.

TimeTac is a continually growing and innovative software company with a focus on developing and providing web-based and mobile time tracking solutions. We maintain a modern, open corporate culture with a strong vision and a great working atmosphere in which creative thinking is encouraged. The products of TimeTac are among some of the leading cloud applications in the categories of time tracking and absence planning solutions.

Your future Role

  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure across environments in close collaboration with AI engineers and key stakeholders.
  • Deploy and maintain the internal tools and automations our organization depends on, ensuring they are reliable, secure and recoverable when something goes wrong.
  • Build focused internal tools and applications that leverage AI to improve team processes and productivity.
  • Design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure and production systems for AI workloads, including containerization, CI/CD, monitoring, and reliable deployment of AI-powered applications and decision pipelines.
  • Act as the go-to person when something is broken, slow, or needs to connect with something else: investigating incidents, resolving them and preventing recurrence.
  • Evaluate, adopt and operationalise emerging AI technologies and frameworks as the landscape evolves.
  • Progressively take ownership of agentic AI pipeline operations, LLM integrations into internal workflows and MLOps/LLMOps practices including model serving, monitoring, drift detection and versioning.
  • In this role, you report directly to our CTO/CPO.

Your Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering. Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments and Kubernetes is a strong plus. Ideally, you have deployed and operated production systems end to end.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in cloud infrastructure: provisioning, networking, cost management, and multi-environment setups, e.g. on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and release workflows.
  • Good knowledge of databases (both relational and NoSQL) including connectivity, migrations, and reliability and integrations: APIs, connectors, internal tooling and third-party services.
  • Curiosity, a willingness to learn and grow alongside AI as the field evolves.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical infrastructure topics for non-technical stakeholders across the business.
  • Ownership mindset: You care about reliability and maintenance, not just shipping. You stay responsible for what you build.
  • Very good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
